The new season of Kids Corner finds Liz and his friends in a new grade at a new school.

His first social studies assignment puts Liz in quite a predicament. While he is researching the skateboard subculture, he's mistakenly identified as a talented new skateboarder. And, Liz has to figure out whether he should tell the truth or try to live out the lie.

Lucille has the challenge of finding new friends. Liz is still her best friend, but she would like to find some new girlfriends--Christian girls who like to study the Bible.

And then there is a secret in Granny Gecko's past. Why was she a member of the Black Adder motorcycle group, and why does she make regular visits to the jail nearby?

Hey, friends and family!

I'm doing a photo shoot for the cover of my new CD THIS SUNDAY, October 11th, and if you're going to be in the Southern California area, I want YOU to be a part of it! I'm looking for people to be the audience in a simulated concert. Kind of like the "seat-fillers" at the Academy Awards - ha ha!

All you need to do is arrive at the worship center at Compass Bible Church in Aliso Viejo between 12:50 and 1 p.m. Wear casual clothes and comfortable shoes - you may have to walk a bit to get there, as parking can be tough.

Besides having a chance at being on the cover, you'll get to hear some work-in-progress tracks from my new CD - including some that aren't on the five-song CD!

It's been a busy summer for our pal Rocky! Thanks to our great listeners, he's been able to visit 19 states and 6 different countries. In all, he traveled 72,234 miles! He was able to see some amazing sites, from the largest home in the United States to a fabulous castle in Switzerland and the famous Stonehenge in England!

Thanks so much to everyone who participated in Rocky's Roadtrip! While we would have loved to give an MP3 player to every kid who entered, we had to draw one winner.

A big congratulations goes out to 13-year-old Bethany from Hemlock, New York!We know Rocky had a great time with you and your pet chicken, Scarlet!

A New Season of Down Gilead Lane!

Many kids have been waiting patiently (and maybe even anxiously) for the new season of Down Gilead Lane. Well, the wait is almost over!

This weekend, you'll be able to catch up with the Morrison clan, the Richter family, and everyone else in Coleraine as you tune in to the season 12 premiere of Down Gilead Lane! Starting Saturday, the program will be available on-demand at HisKids.net!

Bigsby Is In The Prayer Chair

August is here - and that means we've got someone new sliding into the Prayer Chair! This month, we'd like to encourage you to pray for our pal Bigsby! We had the chance to catch up with him this week, and here's some news he'd like to share with you:

"We've been digging in locally, and as a family, working with churches in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The biggest focus has been in volunteering at our local church around the corner and helping to encourage Christian community. We're working toward starting an after-school creative-arts program at the church. The hope is that we'll get to know more families in our neighborhood. The Greatest Commandment (from Mark 12:30-31) has been the theme at every Bigsby show for several years now. In studying that passage of Scripture, I've learned that the Greek word for "neighbor" is from the Greek word for "near". A literal translation of "neighbors" would be "near-ones". Jesus said it's the greatest commandment, so we're taking it to heart!"

Here are some new projects that Bigsby is working on these days:

He's finishing production on a new CD entitled "Monkey", soon to be released. This 14-song CD has plenty of upbeat tunes, some lost gems from previous projects, and even a baby techno-dance song called "Kick Your Feet".
He's also begun work on a new kid's praise CD

As you're praying for Bigsby this month, here are a few requests to keep in mind:

Pray for Bigsby and his family as they work with their local church. Pray that others will be encouraged to join in and help their neighbors.
Bigsby is also working on bringing his home studio up-to-date (things are getting old and tend to break down). Pray that Bigsby can find some "great deals" on the right equipment to keep his music up and running.
Pray that Bigsby's schedule will allow him much time for musical creativity.

August 3 will be an exciting day for my daughter, Kate. At 2:58am, she'll officially turn FIVE years old! (Hopefully she'll wait until the daytime before bringing out the party horns and birthday cake). :)

We've been praying for Rob Biagi during the month of July. As we get ready to turn another page on the calendar, we wanted to share one last update from Rob, and a note of thanks:

I have written some new songs! I call them "works-in-progress" (they are not ready for the radio yet), but I am happy with the way they are sounding. It should just be a little while until you're hearing new Rob Biagi Music on HIS KIDS RADIO! Please pray that my new songs: "Welcome You," "Scoot!," "All Kinds of Fun," "You Shine (We're Rockin' Now!)," and "God is Workin' On Me" will be massive worldwide hits that your families will love. :)

Summer Camp ...

Many kids go to camp during summer vacation. And camps come in all different shapes and sizes.

This week during basketball camp, I had a chance to meet listener Kaeleigh from Grand Rapids, MI! Kaeleigh is 8 years old (soon to be 9) and is a huge fan of HIS KIDS RADIO and HisKids.net. Her absolute favorite programs are Adventures in Odyssey and The Pond!

Hey guys - thanks for remembering me (and my family) in prayer this month! My family is a HUGE part of everything I do, so here's how you can pray for them:

Kathleen (my wife) would love you to join her in prayer celebrating that Natalie is feeling so good, and doing so well. Nat is almost finished with her Leukemia treatment - to God be the glory! Kathleen has been happy and very productive lately, which is fun for her!
Matt (my 18 year-old son) is praying about his future, now that he's a high school graduate. He is an ice hockey referee, and he's going to a big National camp to meet some professional hockey refs. God's will be done!
Juli (my 11 year-old daughter) is reading a book with her mom about purity and real love. Please pray that God would speak powerfully through that book and continue bringing them closer in their relationship.
Natalie (my 4 year-old daughter) has always said, "Jesus is taking care of me", and she's right! Thanks and praise to God for her strength, courage, and long beautiful hair (it has almost all grown back in since the cancer treatments made it all fall out).
I (Rob) an SO GRATEFUL that on Monday, June 8th, I woke up and wanted to get out of bed for the first time in a year! I felt so good, and it's been several days straight since then. It feels SO GOOD to feel good!

Hello fans and friends of HIS KIDS RADIO and me, Rob Biagi! :o)

Wow - the "prayer chair" is comfy! I've got LOTS of good news, so you can rejoice with my family and me. My daughter, Natalie (age 4), is doing very well with her Leukemia treatments. In fact, she'll be finishing her treatments (Lord willing) on December 27th of this year! Check out this site for all of the updates, videos, and pictures.

I, Rob, am also feeling REALLY GOOD for the first time since June, 2008. I've been battling a less powerful form of Leukemia and the powerful side effects of my medication - but I'm doing much better!

Please continue to pray that little Natalie's Leukemia will stay away forever, and that my Leukemia will too! Thank you.

We are in full swing this summer with Vacation Bible Schools, and having a great time! (we're doing 7 weeks of them!) I have traveled to Palm Springs, CA, Newport Beach, CA, and I am in Alabama as I type this (my home is in California). There is a wonderful VBS event going on here in Alabama this week. The 4th and 5th graders asked if they could come onstage and sing and dance with me - on the first day! Sometimes 10 and 11-year-old kids act "too cool" to sing and dance along, but not these kids. Thank you for that, Lord!

Please pray that these summer events will be special memories in the hearts and minds of the children, that they might always remember the great times they had in church learning and celebrating God's wonderful kindness and love. (and singing biblical, fun, wild songs!)

Rocky's Roadtrip has gotten off to a fantastic start! Thanks to some of our radio friends, he's been able to spend some time in Colorado and California!

Over the weekend, we received a great photo from six-year-old Haley. She lives in New Mexico, but was able to take Rocky on her vacation to Colorado! Here they are at Great Sand Dunes National Park. We'll be sending her an official HisKids.net wristband, and she'll also be entered into our weekly and grand prize drawings!

Rocky also made his way to BEAUTIFUL Paradise, California - the home of Mr. Nick from We Kids!

Summertime is a great time to get out and see the sights - from coast to coast, there are a lot of fun places to visit! Since we'll be spending most of the summer in Michigan keeping HIS KIDS RADIO on the air and online, we're hoping our listeners will bring our pal Rocky on their summer vacations during Rocky's Roadtrip!

Our goal is to get Rocky to each one of the 50 states between now and September 1. Here's how you can help:

Simply print, color, and cut out Rocky.
Take him along as you travel around town or during your travels this summer.
Snap a digital photo of you and your family with Rocky and upload it to our web site.

Brent Weber is in the Prayer Chair!

This month, our pal Brent Weber is in the Prayer Chair! Every time we talk to him, he has many new and exciting projects in the works - here's his latest update:

"First, thanks to all the kids and families that listen and invest time in my ministry through prayer. That is very special. I am looking forward to a great year and thank God for the opportunities for which He has set before me. I've always made it a priority to give my best in everything I do for Him, and trust God for His results. Here are some things you can pray for:

I'll be traveling a lot during the summer to camps throughout the country. I will have the opportunity to lead worship, speak, and share Christ 's love with a lot of people. Please pray for clarity of mind in all things. I am merely a messenger to the grace and hope that people can experience.
Since I travel so much, prayer for my family would be extremely appreciated. God has placed them in ministry as well, and their sacrifice of "daddy time" and "husband time" is amazing. Please pray for their endurance and that their acts of 'selflessness' would be blessed by the Lord.
Traveling mercies. Sometimes, dealing with plane flights can test anyone's patience! I will also have others traveling with me so please pray for smooth travel as my numbers increase. I'd much prefer angel wings for transportation over plane wings, but for now we'll deal with what we've been given.
I will be speaking more at National Conferences and working with potential National Ministries for kids. Pray for openness and great discernment for me as I prioritize the various opportunities. In conjunction with this, I will be hosting a National Conference for Children's Pastors here in Atlanta. Prayer for the Conference and my administration of it would be so wonderful."

The End of the Year is Near!

If you're anything like my son, you're probably counting down the days to the end of the school year. Here at HIS KIDS RADIO, we're looking at the end of another kind of year.

May 31 marks the end of our fiscal year. As we get ready to close the books on another great year of ministry, we need to hear from as many families as possible; families that believe in the ministry and outreach of this one-of-a-kind radio station and website.

Seeds Is In The Prayer Chair!

Now that the month of May is here, many people start thinking about planting seeds in their gardens and flower beds. We hope you'll also be praying for Seeds, because they're in our Prayer Chair!

The folks at Seeds Family Worship love to watch sprouts grow as they work to plant God's Word in the hearts of families. They've recently repackaged all five Seeds albums, to help kids and families spread God's Word. Now, each package contains two identical CDs - one to keep and one to share. From newsletters to new products, they're constantly working to provide families with more tools for worshiping together.

As you're praying for our friends at Seeds this month - here are some requests to keep in mind:

Pray for worship leaders Jason Houser and Lance Wooldridge as they travel to churches around the country.
Pray for the Seeds Family Worship team as they teach family worship classes at the LifeWay Worship Conferences this summer.
Pray for the families around the world who hear Seeds music; pray that they will grow together in God's Word.
Pray for the churches that we come in contact with. Many of them are working hard to build connections between what happens there on Sunday and what happens in the home.
Finally, pray for Jason Houser as he writes songs for the 6th Seeds Family Worship album.

One Marvelous Mom...

We've had so much fun reading the entries we've received for our Marvelous Mother's Day Giveaway! One of our favorites didn't come from a kid - it came from one of our favorite artists - Brent Weber!

Here's what he had to say about his mom -

My mom is super special because she sacrificed herself to help kids hear cool Christ centered music. You see...my mom is a nurse and 17 years ago she worked overtime all year long to save up extra money to buy me a keyboard so I could write music. She sacrificed her time, gave up a lot of sleep and gave the extra money she made... for me! When she bought me the keyboard I began to teach myself how to program and write music and still to this day I have kept that keyboard as a great memory to the start to my music ministry!
My mom totally ROCKS! Thanks mom! I love you!!!

Chip Richter is in the Prayer Chair!

Now that April is here, we've got someone new in the Prayer Chair - no foolin'! ;)

This month, we hope you'll pray for our friend Chip Richter. At the beginning of 2009, he sensed that God wanted to do something new with his music and ministry. Over the next few months, he started getting calls from libraries, public schools, and festival organizers about booking family concerts this spring and summer. And that's how his new "Here Comes the Sun" tour was born. He's even doing a few concerts in people's homes, which has been a really cool way to reach out to kids and families.

Here are a few things you can pray for this month:

The "Here Comes the Sun" tour isn't just taking place in churches or other "Christian" areas - it's bringing God's love to a lot of public venues like libraries, schools, and festivals all over Ohio and beyond. God has opened some amazing doors, and it will be important to pray for each concert and the kids that will be attending. If you'd like to pray for each event, you can print this list and keep it close at hand (maybe in your room or on your refrigerator).
Please pray for wisdom for Chip as he performs in these "new" venues. Pray that he will be able to see all of the new opportunities and open doors that God is opening before him.
Chip will also be working with another singer/songwriter - John Wilkie from Sprout-N-Shout. They'll be writing and recording some songs in May, for a new album that should be released this summer. They're on a very tight schedule, so pray that the entire process will go smoothly.
Finally, please pray for a member of Chips band, the Munks. Many of you know Jeff Poulus as "Professor Blues". He's going through some very tough times personally and financially right now, and he would definitely appreciate knowing that kids are praying for him. If you'd like to send him an encouraging email, that would be great - just send it to heythere@chiprichter.com.

Q. Kids Corner is definitely a program full of fun, excitement, and adventure, but each episode also contains a piece of truth that kids can apply to their own lives. What character qualities will we be learning about this season?

Yancy is in the Prayer Chair!

She's one of the most rockin' kids artists around, and this month, Yancy is in the HIS KIDS RADIO Prayer Chair!

She's had a crazy year, moving from Oklahoma to Tennessee. In January, she celebrated the release of her Little Praise Party DVD - a fun project that features 12 animated videos for preschoolers and other kids who like to sing and have fun.

She's also been doing a lot of traveling with the Super Start tour, leading worship for pre-teens at all of the events nation-wide. On top of all of this, she's also getting ready to release two new albums - Rock-N-Happy Dance Party in June, and a Christmas project in September! Along with the Christmas CD will come a Christmas tour, so 2009 is sure to be another busy year!

When we asked her about her prayer requests, here are a few she mentioned:

"I'm in the middle of picking songs and writing songs for the Christmas CD. I'd appreciate your prayers for creativity and wisdom throughout every step of the project."
"Every month, I am writing devotions for worship teams as well as planning worship sets and tools for worship leaders. Please pray for continued guidance and wisdom to write content that will be beneficial to these leaders and impact their churches!"
"Pray for open doors and opportunities to get the music out there. There are a lot of people who have been impacted by the music already, but I believe that there are always bigger and better things. Please pray for open doors to share the music, and more importantly, the Gospel."
"Please pray that I can find the right team. I believe God has the right person and/or people to help me accomplish everything I need on a daily basis, like manage and ship orders, and work with churches to help organize and prepare for my concerts and appearances. Please pray that God would lead me to the right team to help me."
"Health and strength. I spend a lot of days "on the road" changing time zones and weather conditions. Please pray for continued good health and strength each day to accomplish all that God has for me."

Kids Corner Sneak Peek (II)

Still wondering what's going to be happening during the new season of Kids Corner? Keep reading for more of our conversation with Barb Brouwer, one of the producers of the program.

Q. Liz is the kind of lizard that always seems to be involved in one kind of adventure or another. This season, he has a big project in the works...would you mind sharing what it is?

A. Liz decides to start an internet radio station, WLZR, LizRadio.net. This is almost a big enough project for Liz's ambition and abilities. As programming director, he has a lot of time to fill, but his friends are more than ready to help by producing shows that Liz can include in the programming. Lucille's "What's Bothering You?", Morrie's "A Minute With Morrie", and Chamy's "Science and You", are highlights of the programming on Liz's new station. LizRadio.net will also be found at our website and include ongoing updates from Lucille, Morrie, and Chamy.

The radio station also gets them an invitation to go to Ireland. A listener from Ireland contacts them and asks for help starting a new station. This request results in a Spring Break trip to Ireland, a kidnapping, a history lesson, and lots of surprises.

The inspiration from this storyline is Roger Basick, the actor who plays Morrie. Roger's career has been in radio in the Chicago area, but recently, he felt God's call to help a new Christian radio station in Ireland, LifeFM. It is the only Christian radio station in Ireland. He is hoping to relocate to Ireland as a missionary, serving the radio station there.

Learning to "Speak Australian"

I hope you had the chance to listen to this past weekend's edition of the Song Request Contest. Even though Buddy-Dodd wasn't in the studio to help me play though your requests...I did have a special guest in the studio - Mark, the lead singer of The Lads!

We had a fun time talking about their ministry and some new projects they're working on...and then, things got a little silly, when Mark spent some time teaching me how to "speak Australian", since their group is originally from New Zealand.

That part of our interview was so silly that it didn't make it to the radio...but it did make it to the Radio Recess Blog.

A New Season of Kids Corner is Coming!

All of us here at the radio station are really excited about a brand new season of Kids Corner starting in just a few weeks!

We recently had a chance to catch up with Barb Brouwer, the project manager for the program. She's been kind enough to give us a little glimpse into the new season. Over the next few weeks, we'll be sharing those secrets right here...so be sure to visit often!

Q. Many HIS KIDS RADIO listeners and visitors to HisKids.net are familiar with Kids Corner...but for those who are new to the show, please tell us what it's all about.

A. Kids Corner tells the story of a young lizard named Liz (or Lizzer), who with his friends, Lucille, Morrie, Spike, and Scooter, has many adventures in and around Terrene, the town where he lives. Liz gets into a lot of crazy situations, but with the help of his parents and friends like Grandpa Anole and Granny Gecko, he is able to solve his problems and learn lessons while he does.

Q. One of the older lizards who helps Liz and his friends in their walk with God is Grandpa Anole. We'll be learning a little more about him this season - can you tell us more about that?

A. Grandpa Anole has lived a long and colorful life. The kids think they know him pretty well. Yes, he sometimes sounds crotchety and cantankerous, but he is always glad to see them and to help them learn about God and the Bible. But this season, Liz and the gang are surprised by Grandpa's behavior. The advice he gives them isn't what he usually says. He's not nice to them. In fact, he mostly seems annoyed and wants them to go away. Is Grandpa sick? Does he need help doing his chores? They just can't figure it out. And the answer is something they never expected. That's all I can say without giving away too many secrets...

The Lads are in the Prayer Chair

This month, The Lads are in the HIS KIDS RADIO Prayer Chair! We recently had a chance to connect with Steve King, the drummer for the group.

Q. The Lads are new to many in the HIS KIDS listening audience - tell us about the group.
A. The Lads band is made up of three guys - Mark, Bjorn, and myself. Over the past 10 years, we've been ministering through music to kids and families in New Zealand and Australia. Now, we've made our way to the United States, bringing our music and excitement for God to an entirely new audience.

Q. What is the main goal of The Lads?
A. We are passionate about seeing kids and their families connect with God. For us it is really all about putting people in contact with their Creator. While we aim to produce an unforgettable concert experience, our ultimate passion is seeing God move powerfully in kids lives. This desire affects everything we do, from our live concerts through to the music we write.

Q. How can we pray for you guys this month?
A. There are a few things we'd appreciate prayers for:

Our TV show. We really feel that this concept has a role to play. We pray that God makes a way for Lads TV to get in front of as many kids and families as possible. We really feel that God has some cool plans for it (not just the 5 episodes we have done but for the production of future episodes), so we are praying that God will open up opportunities for these cool plans to unfold!
Pray for opportunities for The Lads to play more concerts. Since we're so new to the United States, one of our big challenges is finding ways for churches to learn about us and invite us to partner with them for a concert.
Overall guidance. We don't want the ministry of The Lads to be about us...we want to follow God's lead in everything we do. It would be awesome to pray that God helps us to discern the difference between our ideas and dreams and the plans God has for The Lads.

Gilead Sneak Peek, part 3

And now...the third part in our conversation with Steve O'Dell about what will be happening during Season 11 of Down Gilead Lane!

Q. Back to the Morrisons - will we be able to visit Brooke or Justin in college this year? And what else can we expect to hear from Michael, Haley, Tim, and Hope?

A. Well, as I'm sure your listeners know, Brooke and Justin are not the only ones in college. In addition to the two Morrisons, several other favorite characters have been away at college. There's Caleb Richter, of course, and then there are also the Taylor twins: Luke and Becca. The cool thing about season 11 is that the whole season will take place during the summer, so we won’t HAVE to visit any of them in college - they’ll be home for the summer (which may take some imagination for listeners since the episodes will begin the weekend of January 31 and run through February, March and April)!

Gilead Sneak Peek, part 2

Still wondering what will be happening during Season 11 of Down Gilead Lane? Keep reading as we continue our conversation with Steve O'Dell, Creative Director at CBH Ministries.

Q. The Morrison family isn't the only family that lives on Gilead Lane. We've also gotten to know the Richter Family. They’ve been having a hard time lately, since Tom, his son, and youngest daughter Maya are doing their best to follow God, but his wife Monica and oldest daughter Tiffany are interested in other things. Will things be changing for their family this season?

A. Every good story needs a villain, right? Well, when DGL started out, the Richters were the villains—big time! But the cool thing about God is that He is in the business of making villains into heroes, and we wanted to reflect that in our story as it has gone on over time. So, yes, Mr. Richter (Tom), his oldest son, Caleb and youngest daughter, Maya have all decided to follow Jesus and are learning how to do that best in their different avenues of life, but also in the home they share with two people (Monica and Tiffany) who still seem very hard-hearted and opposed to following Jesus. To answer your question, things WILL be changing for their family this season, but I can’t really give you any details on that just yet. (*wink*)

A Gilead Sneak Peek...

As you might know, we're pretty excited about the brand new season of Down Gilead Lane. Recently, we had a chance to catch up with Steve O'Dell. He's the Creative Director at CBH Ministries. He's the one who gets to direct each episode and help take the show from words on a page to something fun on the radio. Since he knows all of the ins and outs of the program, we thought he might be the best one to give us a sneak peek into what's going to happen in Season 11.

Here's the first of our three-part chat with Steve-O:

Q. Many of our HIS KIDS RADIO listeners enjoy tuning in to Down Gilead Lane each week, but for those who aren’t familiar with the program, can you give us a brief description of what it’s about?

A. Down Gilead Lane (DGL) is set in a small, Midwest town called Coleraine. Gilead Lane itself is where most of the story takes place as our main characters, the Morrison family live there. They’re all working together to figure out how God wants them to live and love through all the struggles that come their way.

Q. Over the past few seasons, we’ve been introduced to other people in Coleraine, too, like Grace Andrews. This season, there could be some big changes in store for Grace, as the construction of a new Family Fun Center threatens to destroy her house. Can you give us any updates?

A. Yes, the Morrison’s amazing neighbor, Grace, and her dog, Fin McCool, live down at the end of Gilead Lane. It’s a beautiful, quiet, mysterious setting and her home was designed and built by Grace’s father before he and Grace’s mom died tragically over 30 years ago. So, needless to say, when Gilead Lane became threatened by eminent domain and a development deal by a large organization that has just moved into Coleraine, Grace and the Morrisons were pretty upset and fearful of what might happen. At the end of Season 10, we heard bulldozers rolling down Gilead Lane toward Grace’s house with Grace, the Morrisons and all their other friends praying for God to show them what to do. Grace has come to terms with the fact that God may be asking her to give up her house, and she has surrendered to that possibility. Season 11 will pick up at that exact moment.

What else will Season 11 bring? What about the Richter family and the Morrison kids? You'll find out as we continue our chat with Steve O'Dell here at the Radio Recess Blog. Prayer Requests from Uncle Charlie Bancroft

This month, Uncle Charlie Bancroft is in the HIS KIDS RADIO Prayer Chair! When we talked to him about how things are going, here's what he had to say -

Q. How have things been going over the past year?
A. Right now, I'm praising God for allowing me to make a remarkable recovery from my near fatal car accident a year ago last November! I am about 90% where I need to be, and I'm very grateful for all of the prayers of God's children all around the country and even around the world!

Q. How can we pray for you and your ministry over the next few months?
A. There are a few things that you can pray for -

Please pray that I will be physically, mentally, and emotionally able to tour again very soon so that I can keep sharing the good news of Jesus with children and families.
Please pray that God will take care of me and my family financially. Right now, I am not able to make any money from touring. God is a big God, and promises to provide for our needs!
Please pray that God will use me in a most powerful way after the accident. I know God wants me here for a reason, as I am a miracle to be alive. I want God to shine through me as I take advantage of a new opportunity to share his love!

Q. Is there anyone else we can pray for?
A. Sure!

Please pray for my wife Tammy as she continues to help me walk through my recovery. She has been my steady rock and I thank God for her encouragement and patience as I try to heal up. Pray that God will give her strength - all of the ups and downs of recovery can be very draining!
Please pray for my new praise team. I have a new singer and three wonderful dancers/choreographers that help make our concerts very exciting and full of energy! They'll need God's strength and grace as they try to find time to practice and as they try to keep up with all of our travels when we get going.
Please pray for every child who gets to hear my music, that God will use our songs to speak to their hearts and get them excited about living for Him!

As mentioned above, Uncle Charlie was in a very serious car accident a little over a year ago. By all earthly accounts, he shouldn't have survived, but God protected him. Since then, he has a very important message to share about God's plan for each of our lives. Take a look at these videos to see what we mean!

God Rocks is in the Prayer Chair!

This month, our friends from God Rocks! are in the HIS KIDS RADIO Prayer Chair! They're finishing up a very busy year of music and ministry to kids in North America and around the world!

In 2008 God Rocks! successfully raised money to build a NEW SCHOOL and install a fresh water well for children in Kabwe, Zambia. Pray that God will bless these children, many who have no mother or father to care for them. Pray that they will grow up to be strong and healthy and will learn not only their 1-2-3's and A-B-C's but also about how much God loves them.
God Rocks! performed many LIVE CONCERTS this past year where hundreds of boys and girls prayed and became followers of Jesus for the first time! Pray that these children will continue to grow strong in the Lord as they learn to trust and obey him day by day.
God Rocks! will be partnering with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to share the message of Jesus at more then 20 exciting community events in the United States and Canada in 2009. Pray that God will bless the Rev. Franklin Graham and God Rocks! as they share God's love with many thousands of boys and girls who attend these special events.

Today isn't an ordinary Tuesday...it's Election Day! People from sea to shining sea will be heading to the polls to cast their votes for president, vice president, senators, and many important issues.

You've probably heard a lot about the election from your parents and teachers, and maybe you've been able to catch some reports on the news. Our friends from Scholastic have made some great resources available to make the election process a little less confusing for kids (and adults too!)

Brent Weber is in the Prayer Chair!

Brent Weber is in the HIS KIDS RADIO Prayer Chair for the month of November. He's busily working on a few new projects, and already getting prepared for another full summer of concert ministry in 2009!

On top of being one of our favorite musicians, he's also a children's pastor at his church and a father of three.

As you're praying for Brent this month, here are a few requests to keep in mind:

Brent's crew is finishing up the recording and making a new DVD. Please pray that all of the technical and logistic issues go as planned - they're on a very tight schedule to get everything done.
Pray for wisdom on handling and caring for people in Brent's church who are going through tough times.
Pray that Brent will have peace as he deals with many hurting people in his ministry at church and on the road at concerts. It can be overwhelming to see all of the hurting people in the world; pray that Brent can remember and share with others the message that God is in control.
Please pray for Brent's family as they'll be traveling in the near future; pray that they will have safety and quality time together.
Brent already has a full schedule of camps and concerts for next summer. Please pray for the kids and families that will be at those events, that God will change their hearts and move them into a relationship with Christ.

Over the past few years, the folks at Seeds have helped us learn some great Bible verses by putting them to rockin' music. I know that their songs have helped my family learn God's Word in a really fun way.

This morning, a special event was held at schools all over the United States and in other parts of the world. A special time of prayer, known as See You At The Pole, brought an estimated 3 million students together as they asked for God's guidance and protection for their schools, fellow students and teachers.

One of the great privileges we have as Christians is that of prayer. God loves it when we talk to Him. He's never too busy to listen to our prayers of thankfulness, our requests for help, or our cries for forgiveness. We can talk to God anytime, no matter what time it is or where we are.

Yancy is finally taking some time off after a very busy summer concert schedule. She and her husband are in the process of building a new house in their new home state of Tennessee. This fall she will be hitting the road again with the Super Start tour, which is a two day event for 4th, 5th and 6th graders. She will be traveling to 15 different cities this school year leading worship for the events.

In addition to the Super Start events, she will be doing lots of other concerts, and worship leading at churches and other conferences and events. My family & I recently packed up for another HisKids.net Field Trip ... this time to hear Go Fish sing at a charity softball game hosted by Moody Radio in Chicago.

Phredd is in the Prayer Chair

This month, we hope you'll be praying for one of the silliest singers we know - Phredd!

He's been very busy this summer with concerts and other events. He's also one of the morning hosts at WJTL in Pennsylvania, the father of 8 children, and one of the few people who can play the ukulele.

Here are a few of Phredd's prayer requests this month:

Pray that God would help him change into a new and different person like it says in Galatians 6:15.
Pray for all the Phredd kids as they head back to school. Two will go to college, two will go to high school and two will go to elementary school. (plus, the two biggest kids are teachers, so they are going back to school too!)
Pray for Mrs. Phredd.
Pray for Mr. Phredd's right shoulder. It hurts and needs surgery.

Hi-Tech Treasure Hunting ...

This summer my family went camping at Indiana Dunes State Park. It wasn't our first time there, but it was the first time we took full advantage of the Nature Center.

We learned about owl puke, watched butterflies "hatch" from their cocoons, released baby snakes into the wild ... AND went geocaching for the very first time.

Summertime is a great time to get out and play...so we were very excited to get out of the office last week and head out to a fun kids' event called August In Ada.

Buddy-Dodd, our summer helper Joseph, and I had a lot of fun playing great music and helping out at the kids' stage. It was also a treat to meet some of our HIS KIDS RADIO listeners face-to-face!

And of course, the day wouldn't be complete without a sno-cone and a trip down the inflatable slide...who knew work could be this much fun?

He's currently working with a very talented video production company to produce a BRAND NEW Bigsby DVD. He's also getting ready for a big concert tour in the north east part of the United States, and he will be doing a lot of free concerts for churches.

While you're praying for Bigsby and crew this month, here are a few requests to keep in mind:

Pray for Bigsby and his friend Miles as they are making plans to minister to children overseas next summer.
Pray for Bigsby's family, that they would seek God earnestly, follow Him closely, and walk in righteousness.
Pray for Bigsby's friends Nick and Gwen as they prepare to move their family to Haiti to help children there.

God's Protection ...

What's the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the words "Paradise, California"? Most kids will recognize it as the home town of Mr. Nick from We Kids.

You may have seen on the weekend news that many people in Paradise had to leave town because of a large wildfire. Sadly, dozens of homes burned and one person lost their life, but officials believe it could have been much worse.

Mr. Nick says, "It's been quite a weekend, but God was gracious. Please join us in thanking Him for His protection!"

Pat Roy, writer and producer of Jonathan Park, also lives in Paradise. His family was one of the first to be evacuated, but after returning from several days away they found no damage to their home or ministry. In his words -- "God is good!"
